Marion Anniss textile artist

I am a textile artist and I create modern decorative wall art using a blend of contemporary, cutting edge techniques and traditional stitch and embroidery work. My work is design-led and primarily abstract. It is usually inspired by my passions for nature and historical architecture.

I enjoy working with patterns and shapes, and often develop a number of pieces from the same initial inspiration. You can see some examples of these series in the Gallery subpages .

I'm a member of a number of groups, including TIES (Textile Innovation Exploring Stitch),  ATT (Art Through Textiles) Stitchprintpaint and also Derbyshire Arts Co-operative. I have exhibited my work throughout Yorkshire and the Midlands. More details of previous and forthcoming shows can be found on the Events page.
