Enforced days around the house this year provided much time to sit and view the plants and wildlife in my small garden. The blackbird spent many hours singing and feeding under the hedges and by the pond - they are very partial to young newts I have discovered! The magpies were constantly calling to each other and the newts were constantly changing form. All this amongst a background of rapidly growing foliage. It was not too long before the camera came out and design work followed.

The final pieces evolved from a variety of design sources, collage, print and photograph, mapping my ideas as  usual in my sketch book. All the work, apart from two needle felted pieces, became art quilts,
